Why
You may have noticed I finish my emails with “Grace and peace.”
It is a phrase used throughout the New Testament, especially in the letters of the apostle Paul.
grace
God giving us what we could never earn.
Christianity does not begin with us becoming good enough for God. It begins with God giving.
peace
More than feeling calm.
Peace with God: being made right with him through Jesus Christ.
For me, it is more than just an email sign-off. It is a small reminder of the good news at the centre of the Christian faith: that forgiveness and new life are offered freely through Jesus.
